Kidical Mass Rides

What is Kidical Mass?

Kidical Mass is an international movement to create a “Kidical Mass” of families out riding their bikes together and having fun! The rides are no more than a few kilometres and should be comfortable for people of all ages and abilities. They are a youth-focused event utilizing routes that the average parent (not a regular bicycle rider) feels comfortable biking with their young children.

The point of the rides is to expose families to:

  • Unintimidating biking routes
  • Bicycle safety in an urban environment
  • A positive social atmosphere
  • Visibility for and awareness of cyclists as people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities

When are they happening?

What do I need?

Bring water and snacks for your family. Dress for the weather. In the event of rain, we’ll try to re-schedule, but if that’s not possible, the ride will be cancelled. Meeting places and routes will be released closer to the date of each ride.

Where can I find more information/register?

You can register for each event by clicking on the linked date above and registering yourself (and your kids) through the events page on our website. The rides are free, but there will be a donation option where you can choose to donate to HCC to help support this event and our advocacy work in HRM.

The routes will be released closer to each date and can be found on the registration page.
