Youth biking at SWITCH Dartmouth

Register to make Halifax’s streets safer for cyclists!

The Halifax Cycling Coalition is a member-supported organization that advocates for a safer cycling and a healthier community. Our influence at the City is directly related to our membership – the more members we have, the stronger our voice.
Our advocacy and outreach is primarily funded by your member dues. In addition to this, our members have a say in our overall strategy with a vote at our Annual General Meeting, and a Halifax Cycling Coalition membership card which gives you discounts on bikes, accessories, labour, groceries, and much, much more. In addition to this, our monthly members, and sustainers and patrons, all receive membership in our flat tire repair program and free bike registration (launching soon).

  4. I’m joining this group to try to help advocate for better biking infrastructure. I’m really concerned about the unsafe roads on and off the peninsula. It seems no matter which way you ride, you end up having to stop at a light in the middle of very dangerous intersections, e.g. the bridge exits on Barrington, the windsor street exchange from the Bedford Highway really has no allowance for bikes and even coming off the trail at Dutch Village Road, you have to cross a busy intersection or else risk going through the rotary.
