I Light Halifax 2023

Registration is closed for this event
The I Light HFX campaign aims to raise awareness and create a sense of community visibility about cycling and wheeling after dark.

RSVP  now for the I Light HFX 2023 ride

The campaign includes a community ride with well-lit bikes. The funds raised from the community ride go towards HCC’s advocacy, including our free light giveaway.

The community ride is a fun way to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get creative with lighting up their bikes as bright as possible and riding together through our city.

This is an inclusive event therefore we particularly welcome participation from disabled cyclists, wheelchair and mobility scooter users, also other micro-mobility users such as e-scooters. We are stronger together! If you have any particular needs arising from your disability, such as getting to and from the start, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.

Please, do your registration and help us to raise funds for this campaign.

We will meet in the back parking lot of The Cathedral Church (1340 Cathedral Lane) at 6pm and the depart for the ride beginning at 6:30pm. The route will follow the city streets of the peninsula. Following the ride, we will have a post-ride celebration with refreshments. There will be some great prizes!

Dress up your bike and yourself with lights, glowsticks, and anything bright and shiny! Remember, November in Halifax can be unpredictable, please dress according to the weather. Plan to be outside during the pre-ride gathering and the ride itself – remember lots of layers and a shell that can break the wind – don’t forget to cover your hands, ears, and neck!
