Winter Bicycle Week

Join us for a fun-filled week of winter cycling to let Haligonians know that bicycles are a fun, safe, and convenient way to get around town in all seasons. This year's events include:

• Bikes vs Cars Film Screening - join the Dalhousie Bike Centre for a free screening of "Bikes vs Cars" on February 5th at 6:30pm. The screening will be followed by a panel featuring Dave MacIsaac, Supervisor of Active Transportation for the Halifax Regional Municipality, and Ben Wedge, Chair, Halifax Cycling Coalition.
• Frost Bike Ride - join us for a celebration of winter cycling, including a tour of Halifax's latest (and pending) bicycle lane projects. Warm up at Good Robot Brewing following the ride.
• Passion for Place public lecture featuring Dale Bracewell, Manager of Active Transportation for Vancouver, February 10, 2016, 6:30 PM, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Join as at 5:30 for a networking reception, and stick around at the end for a panel featuring Brendan Maguire, Gaynor Watson-Creed, and Bob Bjerke
• Professional development workshop - join Dale Bracewell for a free workshop at the Halifax Central Library, February 10, 9am-1pm. Space is limited, reservation required.
• Winter Bicycle Riding Lunch & Learn - for tenants of Scotia Square, we are offering a free Lunch & Learn event to answer your questions about winter bicycle riding, and any other questions you may have about using a bicycle in Halifax
• Winter Bike to Work or School Day, February 12, 2016, various locations (encourage your employer to host a coffee and snack station for people commuting by bike, and let us know so that we can promote it.) Confirmed locations include Cyclesmith, MEC, Scotia Square, Dal Bike Centre, and Halifax Cycles.
