The Halifax Cycling Coalition is a member-supported organization that advocates for safer cycling and a healthier community. Our influence with the Halifax Regional Municipality is directly related to our membership – the more members we have, the stronger our voice.

Our advocacy and outreach are funded by member dues. In addition to providing much-needed funding, our members have a say in our overall strategy, a vote at our Annual General Meeting, and discounts at local businesses. Learn more about membership benefits.

We have three types of membership, with different levels per membership type to suit your needs. A regular membership gives you all of the access to HCC members’ meetings and discounts at local businesses. A sustaining monthly membership helps us sustain our programming with dependable funding throughout the year and gives you the peace of mind of not having to remember to renew your membership each year, as it will automatically renew for you (recommended). We also offer a corporate membership so that businesses and organizations can support the HCC too!

I’m joining this group to try to help advocate for better biking infrastructure. I’m really concerned about the unsafe roads on and off the peninsula. It seems no matter which way you ride, you end up having to stop at a light in the middle of very dangerous intersections, e.g. the bridge exits on Barrington, the windsor street exchange from the Bedford Highway really has no allowance for bikes and even coming off the trail at Dutch Village Road, you have to cross a busy intersection or else risk going through the rotary.
