As you may know the Bayers Lake Trail is being closed in sections this summer in order to install a sewer line. Some sections of the trail are being diverted through residential neighbourhoods, but the Chain Lakes section will be closed in June and July with no alternative possible. The silver lining to the closure is that Halifax Water will be paving the entire trail as part of this project, providing a smoother surface which can easily be maintained in the winter.
