Our AGM normally takes place in the spring, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting public health regulations, we were unable to hold our AGM as usual. We are excited to host our AGM this fall in an online format through the zoom platform. At our AGM we will share our annual report and our annual financial statements (pg 1) (pg 2) (pg 3). We will also be joined by Dr. Meghan Winters, Associate Professor in Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. Dr. Winters will be speaking about her latest research findings from the Impacts of Bicycle Infrastructure in Mid-Sized Cities project.
At the AGM we will vote on new board members to join our Board of Directors. Board members provide leadership, guidance, and perspectives on topics and activities relevant to urban cycling in Halifax. The main responsibilities of the Board and its Directors, include: supporting community projects and initiatives, develop best practices for cycling advocacy, and support and execute organizational projects. If you are interested in becoming a board member, please contact the Chair of the Board, Sarah Manchon, for more information before the AGM on November 5th.
All HCC members are welcome to attend the AGM. You can become a member for as little as $2 per month (the price of one cup of coffee). Register as an HCC member here. Anyone who is interested in joining the Board must be an HCC member in good standing on the date of the AGM and throughout their term on the Board.
Please join us on November 5th at 6pm to learn more about what we’ve been up to this year and share your feedback with us! When you register on this page, you will receive a link to the zoom meeting to attend the event from the comfort of your own home (or wherever you might be tuning-in from).
