April is the perfect time to jump start your cycling season. With HCC’s 30 Days of Biking campaign, we’ve got lots on the go including events and a bike give-away to make it easy to ride every day in April.
To get more people involved in the Halifax Cycling Coalition, we are giving away a brand new bicycle in a draw that’s open to new and current members. Refer a friend or become a member of the HCC, and you could be riding away on this brand new Giant city bike courtesy of Bicycles Plus!
Here’s how to enter the draw to win the GIANT Bike:
1. Sign up to become a member of the Halifax Cycling Coalition, and receive 5 ballots for signing up.
2. Already a member? Simply share the registration link to your friends and ask them to join the HCC via our website. Make sure they include your name as Referrer on our Registration page. For each successful referral, you and the new member will each receive 5 ballots for the draw. There’s no limit to how many times you can refer a new member and get more ballots, so spread the word far and wide! The winner to be drawn on April 30.
Weekly social media challenge:
We will also be doing a weekly prize draw for participants! Sharing your progress during 30 Days of Biking is the perfect way to encourage others to cycle too. We will post a 30 Days Of Biking social media challenge each week. The topic will be announced on our website/Facebook/Twitter every Monday. Simply respond to the challenge with a Facebook or Twitter post using the hashtag #30DaysOfBikingHFX. There are great prizes to be won, including $25 gift cards, new panniers, free tune-ups and cycling swag from your local bike shops.

Now that you’ve made your pledge to ride this April, it’s time to share it in the awesomest ways possible. How about in song, or on a billboard? Take a video or photo to show how you’ve shared your pledge, post it on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #30DaysOfBikingHFX, and the most creative response wins brand new panniers from MEC!
