Spring "Snack & Swap" Social
4-6pm at Bike Again - 5664 Charles St, Halifax

New to TMC or riding in Kjipuktuk? Come hang out at @bikeagainhfx from 4–6pm on Sunday the 12th and get to know TMC's programs and pals! We’ll swap snacks (we’ll have lots, but feel free to bring a favourite to share), winter adventure stories, clothes, and bike gear or parts (anything goes). We’ll also share a bit about what TMC has in store for 2025. TMC is a space is for women, trans, and gender-diverse folks. We think whatever bike and experience level you have are awesome. See you there!

Dust off your bike and get ready to ride! Join us for the first workshop of the cycling season, where you'll learn the essential maintenance skills to keep your bike running smoothly all spring and summer.

This session will walk you through fixing a flat, adjusting brakes, and cleaning and lubricating your chain. No experience necessary, just bring your bike and a willingness to get your hands a little greasy.

Spaces are limited, so RSVP to reserve your spot.

Join us at the Oval for a pre-season gathering: our second annual Spring Social! We’ll have hot cocoa, snacks and ride laps on the oval to help keep us warm. We’ve invited so many of our bike friends along for some great activities:

• cargo bike show & tell
• e-bike test rides with Halifax Cycles
• stuff-a-bike with Bike Brigade Halifax: bring food items for our community fridges
• bike checks and minor repairs with the Ecology Action Centre's pop-up bike hub

Please note, the oval is not officially open for the season until June, so there will be no rentals or washrooms available on site for this event.

Saturday, April 25th, 10am departure at the Armdale Roundabout.  Refreshments and sociables at the Armview Restaurant upon our return.

60km group ride departing from the Armdale Roundabout and heading out St. Margarets Bay Road to Tantallon where we will turn up the 213 to Hammonds Plains Road and back in toward the city along Kearney Lake Road, Dunbrack St and we'll add in a final loop through Spryfield to arrive back in Armdale.

Current membership in Cycling Nova Scotia is required.  Membership in Randonneurs NS is optional for first timers.  We expect riders to be self-sufficient, have some experience road riding, and to be comfortable with vehicle traffic.  We can tell you all about the club over post-ride refreshments.

Counter Points is a citywide event to see what the Halifax bike counter statistics would look like if there was a coordinated effort to run up the numbers. Participants are encouraged to cross as many bike counters as possible in one day, to share their strategies and to have fun. Whether you do this as a group ride around the city hitting as many counters as you can or as an individual riding circles around a block is up to you.
