B-icicle Ride

We've teamed up with the Downtown Dartmouth Ice Festival to offer a family-friendly winter bike ride in Dartmouth to help kick-off Winter Bike Week!

Join the Halifax Cycling Coalition for a slow-paced family-friendly b-icicle ride! We will meet at 2pm at the Alderney Landing Ferry Terminal. The terminal is physically accessible (barrier-free). There are gendered washrooms on-site and a water fountain. We will ride past ice sculptures and enjoy the Downtown Dartmouth Ice Festival along the way. There will be music playing along the ride. Our route will take us along Portland street, which will be partially closed to vehicle traffic, and to lake Banook. We will ride for approximately 6 km, and our route will include riding in mixed traffic, as well as on trails. Conditions will be assessed beforehand and the route may be changed depending on weather and trail conditions. Dress appropriately for the wintery weather.

We will end around 3pm at Yeah Yeah's Pizza and Two if by Sea at 66 Ochterloney Street where you can purchase a hot slice of pizza at Yeah Yeah's (upstairs - not physically accessible) or warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee at Two if by Sea (barrier-free entrance, gender-neutral, accessible washrooms available).
